MRDC provides education and support to families or individuals interested in becoming homeowners. We assist future homeowners in preparing to purchase their first home and provide other services and information as needed. Home Repairs and Weatherization

MRDC may be able to assist with emergency repairs, health and safety retrofits, and/or weatherization for your home as described below. Please contact us for more information or an application.

Emergency Repairs Program

Low-income applicants may qualify to have select emergency repairs (e.g., roof leaks, holes in floors, etc.) completed on their homes by licensed contractors, at no cost to them.

Health and Safety Repairs

Applicants may qualify for health and safety upgrades (e.g., handrails, ramps, bath fan installation, etc.) that aim to improve quality of life and decrease household allergens.

Weatherization

Low- and moderate-income applicants may qualify for home weatherization work (e.g., air sealing, insulation, pipe wrap, etc.) that leads to more comfortable living and lower energy bills.

HVAC Repair/Replace – Seasonal

Low-income applicants may qualify for free repair or replacement of existing HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems.

For the HVAC program, service occurs November through March only, but applications are accepted year-round.
