small town symposium october 29-30, 2008

Talbot County Historical Society Auditorium
17 South Washington Street
Easton, Maryland

Towns and counties in Maryland have experienced record levels of growth and the pressure for growth in the last decade.

Wastewater capacity and treatment demands on Maryland’s small towns have presented our communities with unprecedented challenges to meet new planning regulations while maneuvering through development review, annexations and needs for community revitalization.

The current market downturn is providing a cooling period for towns to assess standards of where and how they want to accommodate development - as infill and/or through annexations.

This workshop is intended to provide cutting edge information about tools that can be adopted to help integrate growth most seamlessly and efficiently into existing townscapes and landscapes while protecting natural resources.

By attending the Small Town Symposium you will learn how to develop planning tools and best management practices for your community that will bring the type of community development that you envision and which will save time, enhance quality of life and contribute to community/regional sustainability.
