For more information, Ms. Holloway suggests you follow this link to the interactive "25 Questions for Assessing Your Water System’s Financial Health" tool.

This course is designed to outline the principles of sound financial capacity for small utilities. Steps to evaluate and measure financial capacity will be outlined, along with a review of a new website that helps systems gauge their own financial capability by answering 25 yes or no questions and then analyzing the results of individual answers.

Although most of the discussion pertains to water utilities, the majority of the methods and evaluations can be applied to wastewater utilities as well.
