Strategic
Direction for 2000-2003
Strategic
Planning Update 2000
Accomplishments
1999
In
the course of planning for the work since then, MRDC has excelled
at developing action plans consisting of specific objectives
and short term strategies that were required to complete proposals
for grants and contracts. MRDC has also been pro-active in
adopting ROMA, a results-oriented, outcome-based system of
program planning and evaluation. In the fall of 1999 MRDC
reaffirmed it's Mission. What remained for the complete formation
of the strategic plan was to fill the gap between mission
and action plans.
Accomplishments
Retreat 2000
The
Planning Retreat held March 15th and 16th at the Harbourtowne
Resort, St. Michaels, Maryland, began the process of completing
the Strategic Plan begun two years before. Participants received
an overview of the organization's current situation, discussed
trends affecting the nonprofit sector, and reviewed the vision
of program and administrative managers for their areas of
responsibility over the next three years. With this information
in had, the group reached consensus on the Vision Statement
2000-2003.
In
addition, the discussion on Strategic Direction which was
held March 16th identified attitudes and concerns among the
group that are important in setting Strategic Direction.
- One
was a general satisfaction with the way our programs and services
are performing and a common agreement that we strive for excellence
and continuous improvement.
- The
second was a strong concern for the people we have pledged
to help and an unspoken agreement among the group that individuals
would not be harmed through loss of programs or services or
any other change in strategic direction.
These
two concerns were building blocks for setting the Strategic
Direction of MRDC 2000-2003.
